McDonald firm launches Texas News Post
AUSTIN, Texas (January 29, 2009) -- Chuck McDonald's firm, CDM Media Corp., launched The Texas News Post -- earlier this month -- sparking criticism from some capitol observers who voiced concern that a media firm should not also manage a web-based news outlet.
"Our goal is to provide broadcast quality, in-depth news stories from the Texas Capitol," McDonald said. "This isn't a political blog site, and we're not promoting a right-wing or left-wing agenda."
The firm also operates Full Circle Productions and McDonald Public Relations, which has been engaged in policy issues in Texas since 1996.
The site has three objectives, according to McDonald,
1. Producing high-quality video webcasts that look as good or better than anything you'll see on your nightly news;
2. Providing a forum where differing points of view on pressing state issues can be present, along with news analysis;
3. Generating adequate revenue that can be invested in the site.
